PLANT BASED AYRAN FROM CASHEW YOGURT
Previus post
I really like ayran, this soft drink made from yogurt, but I haven’t had it in a while since I gave up dairy. Since I discovered cashew yogurt, I’ve been using it extensively, about twice a week. My body demands fermented foods, and cashew yogurt meets that requirement. I eat it in the morning, with cranberries and corn flakes, or with date paste, I put it in cheesecake or other cakes. Yesterday I remembered ayran and wanted to see how it goes with my yogurt. Wow, total success! It’s very simple to make, I used the ratio one to one and a half, that is, one part yogurt, one part half water and salt to taste, I put half a teaspoon to 400 ml of ayran. For classic milk yogurt, the ratio is one to one, but cashew yogurt is denser, so we will dilute it more. We can put the ingredients in the blender, or we can do it by hand like this: we put the yogurt in a bowl or tall bowl and add the water slowly, while mixing with the whisk. At the end we adjust the salt, and then we can enjoy the cold and fermented drink.
