MINT AND GREEN APPLE COLD TEA

by Oana

I have a golden apple tree in my garden that, for some reason, drops all the apples before they ripen. I get angry, because I like golden apples, that’s why I planted it, but I don’t get to enjoy them. Plus it makes a mess, I’m picking up and throwing dozens of apples smaller than my fist. And looking with regret at the wasted apples, as they lay in the mint bush, I came up with the idea of this tea. So I put a liter of water on the stove, washed and peeled 4 apples, cut them into small pieces, and, along with a handful of fresh mint, put them on the boil, with the lid on and the heat on low . After 10 minutes, I also put a peeled lemon and cut it into larger pieces. I left another 10 minutes, turned off the heat and put a spoonful of dry mint. I let it steep, strained and put the tea in a carafe in the fridge. It doesn’t need sweetener, it’s good, aromatic and natural, a perfect option for a hot day.
